yAnkEe gANG....

Has the fitted game gone too far?! So, I know it is all about your fitted game, guys care more about hats lately & making sure their "game is tight." Did New Era, the hat company that makes all authentic hats for major league baseball take their game to a whole new level? Apparently. These hats turned up on the shelves in Harlem and many people are upset by this! These new hat designs represent the biggest street gangs. The red & black is for the bloods, the black & gold is for latin kings & the blue and grey is Crips.
MLB claims they were unaware that the designs were gang related. They are "very concerned about the issue and they are going to encourage and support efforts to pull these hats from the stores."
Statements from the Yankees,
"The New York Yankees were completely unaware that caps with gang-related logos and colors had been manufactured with the New York Yankees logo on them. These caps were made under a licensing agreement between New Era and Major League Baseball and were not subject to the Yankees' approval nor shown to the New York Yankees at any point prior to their retail distribution.
The New York Yankees oppose any garment that may be associated with gangs or gang-related activity. Upon learning of the existence of these caps this morning, the New York Yankees contacted Major League Baseball. We were notified by the Commissioner's Office that steps had already been taken to recall the caps from all points of sale. The league ensured that no such product will be manufactured in the future."
There were calls made to New Era, the company that released these hats but there were no returned calls.
